The Democrats in Washington D.C. are blaming the Republicans for student loan interest rates that are about to double. In 2007 the Democrats had control of both the House and the Senate and they passed a bill cutting student loan interest rates in half. But....they set the bill to expire July 1st of this year. An election year.

So now they blame the Republicans in an attempt to make them look like the bad guy. The Republican party is far from perfect, but this one belongs at the feet of the Democrats. If the Democrats had wanted to create a permanent interest rate cut for student loans they would have done so in 2007. What they really wanted to do is play political blame games and create opportunities for themselves in an election year.

So why isn't anyone in the media reporting this? It is my belief that the job of the media is to report the truth to it's views/readers. The media should be all over this one, but they aren't. Politicians on all sides need to be held accountable and the media can, and should, play a very large role in doing just that.
